Naomi and the Button

It's been a couple weeks but I do need to share an interesting story about my little Naomi.
She got a new outfit and it came with an extra button. Naomi was pretty curious and was playing with the button and after about 30 seconds it was no where to be found. She came and told me that it was up her nose and I knew right away that it was no joke. She was actually telling the truth.
So we packed up the car and took a roadtrip to the dr's office. They wouldn't even look at her and referred us to the urgent care. The dr there tried to get it out but had no luck so she sent us to the ER.
So we walked in the ER and for the 3rd time in 2 hours explained why there was a button in my child's nostril.
Naomi was so calm and was having a blast meeting all of the nurses and drs at the hospital. She thinks everyone in the world is her best friend. (wonder where she gets that...Adam) So after introducing herself to the staff and explaining to each one that she had a button in her nose and that she was the one that put it there we sat in a small, hot room for about and hour waiting for the dr to come. Then, he came and like every one else I met that day, looked at me like I was the worst mom in the world. He put on a hat, that looked much like a miner's helmet-with the light on the top-and after wrapping my daughter up like a taco, we'll just say he "dug" the button out of her nose.
They gave her this cute bear to hold onto and advised her to never put anything in her nose again.
Hope that never happens again.

Getting a button up her nose may mean that Naomi is pretty talented or creative, but it certainly doesn't mean you're a bad mother! In fact I think you handled the situation quite well!
